An award-winning songwriter, musician and actor who has shared the stage with legends such as Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper) and Hanoi Rocks, ex-Terrorwheel and Altaria frontman Marco Luponero now spearheads the dynamic alternative hard rock trio carrying his own surname.
Previously known as Marco Luponero & The Loud Ones, the band underwent something of a brand renewal in 2024, as they shortened their name to the much sleeker Luponero while at the same time also presenting a renewed sound.
Kickstarting this new chapter, it didn’t take long for Luponero to land radio list positions with their tongue-in-cheek debut single ‘DAD BOD ROK GOD’. The viral hit caught the attention of Swedish label Icons Creating Evil Art and an agreement was signed in October 2024.
Having spent their last year touring in Finland, Poland and the Baltics, the band is now building up for a 2025 that will see them releasing singles followed by a full-length in March and performing all around Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
Drawing inspiration from the raw energy and spirit of 90’s grunge and punk rock, Luponero infuse their sound with elements of both metal, post-punk, ambient textures, and classic heavy rock. Their live performances are truly a force to be reckoned with — an electrifying experience, characterized by a colossal wall of sound built up by Marco’s charismatic voice and distorted bass harmonies, Simon Grundvall‘s over-the-top energetic drumming and the masterful guitar work of Jim Heikkinen that leaves audiences incredulous that it’s all coming from just three musicians. Each song is crafted to be an instant classic, brimming with hooks and melodies that compel audiences to sing along and leave a lasting impression.
